Attorney Lauren Waterworth has focused her legal studies on Environmental Law. In 2007, she earned a Certificate in Environmental Law from Tulane University and, among other things, served as president of the Tulane Environmental Law Society. Prior to that, Lauren earned a B.S. degree in Geology from Appalachian State University in 2001, and an M.S. degree in Structural Geology from Texas A&M University in 2004. She also completed internships with the N.C. Department of Justice, Environmental Division in 2005, and with the Southern Environmental Law Center in 2006.

Lauren's specialized study of environmental law, combined with her background in Geology and Earth Sciences give her an adept understanding of environmental law issues. This understanding helps her realize the steps necessary to reach the best resolution in these complex cases.

Responsible and sustainable development practices are keys to a healthy future for the North Carolina High Country. State and Federal regulations can be confusing and difficult to implement without proper guidance. Lauren Waterworth can assist responsible developers and contractors with any planning and compliance issues they may encounter during the course of a project.
